Sony Xperia XZ1
The Sony Xperia XZ1 is a huge contender for phone of the year. From the amazing 19MP Motion Eye™ camera to the incredible 5.2″ FHD HDR Display.
I have had this device for about 3 months and this is how I got on with it.
The 19MP Motion Eye™ camera is brilliant to take those amazing moments, and it gets even better for those photographers that likes to mess around with there settings, as with Android 7+ Phones you now have the ability to change a lot of camera settings. Check out the gallery to view some of the photos I’ve taken with the phone.
The Front camera also captures amazing images but dose have an issue with focusing.
Another great feature that I enjoy from the Xperia XZ1 camera is the Super Slow Mo. First released on the Xperia XZ premium the 960FPS Super Slow Mo camera can capture quality shots in slow motion. I’ve been trying to sue it the past few months but still haven’t managed to get the prefect video.
The battery on the Xperia XZ1 is pretty good and lasts me around a day. (bearing in mind, i use social media ll the time, I take a lot of photos and play/stream) Even with it only lasting one day the Xperia XZ1 supports fast charging, and it actually works. It takes less than 90 minutes to get a full charge on your device from 0%
One of my favourite features on the Xperia XZ1 is the “3D Creator App” An exclusive 3D modelling app created by Sony. With this app you can scan a person or any object and it will make a 3D model of it. Click Here for an example of what it looks like.
Another great feature on the device is the fingerprint sensor. This is found on the side of the device and is also the power button. I have found this to work so much faster and smoother than entering my pin.
Verdict and Rating
The Xperia XZ1 is a great every day use phone especially if your a photographer however prepare to carry a charger with you and don’t be surprised if you find a few software bugs with the android system.
